“It’s obvious that these two guys from Italy have worn out copies of the earliest BLACK LIPS albums, but a careful listen reveals much unique weirdness that makes the Dirtiest stand out. There’s a lot going on — blown out guitar string drag, gatling gun drums, stomping hand-claps all funneled into a wind tunnel, with a weird air horn blaring from above, and vocals howling from below. Together with some surprising twists & turns & breaks, the DIRTIEST have crafted a truly slovenly sound”
Biography
The Dirtiest is a Florence-based garage punk psych band formed in 2015 by Fabio Ghiribelli aka Billy Boy (Los Dragos, A small document) and Luca Cascino (The Nackers (IRL), The Apes Party, EXP). They begin as a Guitar/Drums duo to turn into a power trio with the addition of a groovy rhythm guitar player: Sergio Foti (Ray Daytona, Muzzy Mambo, Alfredo Garcia, the moquettes)
In less then a year they were noticed by the legendary north american garage punk label SLOVENLY recording.
in 2916 Slovenly rec. release their debut vinyl (7 inches) called “Alarm”.
A video was released for the B side song “it’s all coming back” created by TAB_ULARASA (The Ulta Twist, Bubca records, Trio Banana, Merda ‘zione, trunsupper egypt…)
In the meantime KAT records from Netherland releases the 4 outtake songs on cassette.
In one year the Dirtiest already played several gigs in Europe sharing the stage with Death (Detroit), Demon’s Claws (Canada), the Spits (USA), the Clinic (UK), Third Sound (Island), Bazooka (Greece), Las Aspirators (Spa), Chronics and many more.

Press – Reviews
RUMORE Magazine (May 2016) – Review by Manuel Graziani

Blow Up Megazine (June 2016) – Review by Roberto calabrò
ROCKIT online magazine – Review by Davide Violante
artistico.

The Dirtiest – Alarm 7” (Slovenly/Black Gladiator)
This Italian duo crank out some loud, murky broken blues/sonic soul with heavy guitar riffs and a whole lot of sweat and strut. The first song is all that I mentioned above with a little bit of Psych thrown in at the end, makes you feel like you fell off in the tunnel during the Willy Wonka boat ride. The B-Side tosses a bit more Psyche but still on the melodic side like Brian Jonestown Massacre. It’s got a rump shaking tambourine you can imagine slapping the hips of some dude in oversized sunglasses and brown leather pants or that of a caged Go-Go dance’s skin tight mini skirt. The songs are wild, guitars are set to maximum fuzz, amps blown out, and the drum heads sound bashed in; just the way we love it! – J Castro
